Miss Hamilton’s Social Studies (6th-8th) Expectations
Materials:
Each student is expected to come to class on time and be fully prepared. Fully prepared includes having all books, homework, sharpened pencils, pens, binder, Scholastic News/Geography Spin /Junior Scholastic magazines and a novel for spontaneous reading. I will inform you if you do not need to bring a particular item for class. I expect your textbook to be covered and MUST remain covered throughout the year.
Classroom Procedures/Behavior:
Homework
You are to expect homework every night, unless I say you do not. Students are expected to have the assignments the following day (or otherwise stated.) Homework will be assigned to review what was learned in class. All homework is due the following school day unless given a due date. To ensure your understanding and mastery on the skill you must complete homework and hand in on time. Homework that is not handed in on the due date will result with your name written in my notebook. On OptionC it will appear missing. You will have an opportunity to complete the homework assignment within ONE DAY. Five points will be taken off for handing it in the following day. After that, the assignment will no longer be accepted and you will receive a 50% for that assignment. We review the homework each day. Any worksheet that was assigned must be placed in the homework section of your binder.
Any assignment that will be graded and given a due date, will also be given a late date. It is usually one or two days after the due date. After the late date, the assignment will no longer be accepted.
